Whether urban or natural, the landscapes immortalized by Montreal photographer Simon Lachapelle captivate with their textures and shades of color. Specialized in architecture and landscape photography, Simon Lachapelle chooses spectacular buildings that he manages to highlight by transporting us to the heart of their magic.
Nature inspires him as much and he reveals to us some bits of his explorations, in search of poetic moments.
“I have always been a fan of modern architecture. I like to include in my photographs guidelines, symmetry and powerful compositions. Architecture photography is all about it! I also enjoy the outdoors, so I always take my camera with me during my travels. In fact, the techniques of landscape photography are very similar to architectural photography, says the artist. Discovering new places is what makes me go.
In recent years, I have traveled several cities to capture some of the world’s most impressive architectures. I went to New York, Chicago, Toronto, San Francisco, Seoul, just to name a few cities. I also traveled across Canada, the United States and Ireland to capture beautiful landscapes. “
The photographer is currently planning other trips to Asia and would like to travel to Patagonia, Iceland and Norway in the coming years to photograph some of the most impressive landscapes on the planet. You can follow his travels and projects on Instagram.
