Installation Made from Historic Wood Escalators in Sydney, Suspended above the escalators at Sydney’s Wynyard Station is artist Chris Fox’s “Interloop”, an incredible sculptural installation of the old wooden escalators from 1931 that were removed last year. Its twisted shape consists of 244 wooden steps, extends over 50 meters and weighs more than 5 tons.
Fox pays homage to the iconic escalator by turning it into a work of art, transforming the past into a contemporary work. More about Chris Fox’s work here and on Instagram.
