Aleksandra Janeković Šribar was born in Croatia and art was always a big part of her life. When she paints, she often listens to classical music which inspires her artwork. She is always trying to give the best of her through her artwork. She says that her portraits are a part of her that cannot be expressed through words.
Each drawing speaks for itself and has a special place in her heart. Aleksandra is a self-taught artist that enjoys drawing portraits the most. Human faces and emotions that can be expressed through their eyes or smiles are a challenge to her. Every wrinkle on a person’s face tells a story of happiness, sorrow, remorse or anger.
When she paints a portrait she is not merely trying to draw someone but wants to tell a story behind that person’s expression and she hopes that people that watch her drawings can see the personality that’s hiding behind a face. Aleksandra uses pencil and sometimes dry crayon and her goal with these drawings is capturing soul and beauty of people on paper and emphasizing their most remarkable features.
